For mission-driven organizations, direct mail is a lifeline. Amidst rising postage rates, the USPS Mail Growth Incentive remains an impactful tool to stretch your direct mail budget. We’ve helped clients realize significant savings and stand ready to help!
How the Mail Growth Incentive Works
The program is straightforward: mail more in 2026 than you did in 2025, and USPS rewards you with postage credits on the incremental volume. Your 2025 mail total becomes the baseline. Any qualifying pieces you send above that number may earn you up to a 30% credit — applied directly to future campaigns.
For organizations already planning increased mail quantities this year, don’t miss out on this opportunity.
Last year, several PMG Family clients earned substantial credits ranging from a few thousand dollars to over $100,000!

Key Details
- Enrollment Window: Mail owners must complete registration and confirm their baseline by May 31, 2026.
- Eligibility: Minimum 1,000,000 pieces mailed in 2025.
- Eligible Mail: Marketing Mail and First‑Class Mail automation letters and flats, including nonprofit rates.
- Baseline: USPS sets your 2026 baseline using your 2025 mail volume.
- Credits: Earn up to a 30% postage credit on incremental volume above your baseline.
- Credit Timing: USPS calculates and issues earned credits quarterly beginning in July. Credits earned at year end can be applied in 2027.
No downside. Serious upside.
There is genuinely no downside to enrolling. If your volume stays flat or declines, there’s no penalty. You are not committing to a minimum volume. You are not paying a fee.
You are registering to be eligible for credits if your volume grows. If it grows, you save.
If you’re uncertain about your total eligible mail volume for 2026, enroll anyway. The best case is that your organization earns meaningful credits that stretch your postage budget further. The worst-case scenario is that nothing happens.
What to Do Next
