It’s time to prepare for impacts on your 2023 postage budgets.

Expect a 4.2 percent increase in 2023 postage ratesThe USPS has requested a postage rate increase across all mail classes of approximately 4.2%. This is the maximum increase allowed by regulation and is derived from the Consumer Price Index which measures price changes over time of consumer products such as utilities, automotive fuel, and food items. These increases are substantial and come on the heels of the July 2022 mid-year increase.

Planning now will help you keep your mailings on schedule and your budget in check.

The USPS has also recently announced several ways for mailers to realize significant savings and obtain enhanced services such as:

  • The Tactile, Sensory, and Interactive Engagement promotion (February 1 – July 31) will provide up to a 5% postage discount for the use of innovative print techniques using certain inks, substrates, or finishes.
  • Returning next year is the popular Informed Delivery promotion (August 1 – December 31) that will again offer up to a 4% discount on postage when an Informed Delivery campaign is set up.

We’ll keep you up to date when the full USPS promotion calendar and details are confirmed.
